Last week purchased our new flat at bellandur. Got the registration done on 25th, vastu shanti pooja on 28t and moved in on 31st. All in just 6 days. In between all this mess, Sucheta had to go to Delhi for visa interview. So the schedule was something like this

25-Aug-08 - Morining - Registration of the flat
25-Aug-2008 - Evening - Went to airport with sucheta. The airport being around 45kms from home, it took around 2 hours. Sucheta reached delhi at around 12.00 in the midnight.

26-Aug-2008 - Night - Sucheta came back from Delhi. Had gone to airport to pick her up. We both reached home around 2.00 am in the night.

27-Aug-2008 - Got the misc tasks completed for the next day's vastu shanti pooja.
28-Aug-2008 - Vastu shanti pooja done, which took the whole day.
28-Aug-2008 Evening - Sucheta's mom and brother left for belgaum.
30-Aug-2008 - My family members left for belgaum.
31-Aug-2008 - The shifting started at 1.00 in the afternoon. It took around 10 hours to shift. The whole shifting was a tiresome exercise. Thought the movers and packers guys were doing all the shifting, still we had to do a lot of running around. The whole stuff got shifted by around 11.00 pm.
Once we moved into the flat, the issues started cropping up one by one. First of all, we did not have any interiors done, so we did not have anything to keep our stuffs. Secondly the bathroom fittings were not working. The cleaning of some of the bathrooms and the balcony was not completed, so even that needed some work to be done by the builder. On top of that, we had not got the light fittings done. I was supposed to get it done before moving in, but somehow we did not get time to do it. So when we moved in, we had one table lamp and a tubelight. So whichever room we went, we carried one of these.
Since 3rd Sep(wednesday) was a holiday (Ganesh Chathurthi), we decided to get most of the pending things done. We asked the plumber/electricitian/cleaning guys to come on wednesday.
Fortunately or unfortunately, all these guys landed at the same time. So there were aound 8-10 people working at the same time in different rooms. On top of it, we had to make sure notthing went missing, since we had kept all our stuff in the open. But wednesday proved to be a very good day. Around 60-70% of the work was completed.
Now we have some small issues pending, which i guess should not cause much hassels.
