I was searching for a mehtod that would help me increase the speed of my writing. After searching a few web pages, I figured out that learing shorthand would be a lot tedious and time consuming task. But in the proces of searching, I found out that if you omit the vowels in each word, you could still understand the whole statement

Some calcuations:
original full text - 337 characters
text with vowels omitted - 255 character
------------------
Decrease = 24% less characters

so the above method does improve the writing speed.

Also, you can use your own abbrs if needed. For example "u" for "you" etc.
Also, you need not omit all the vowels. In some cases ,it may make more sense not to remove them.
Please use this method only for self reference. If you are writing to/for someone else, then make sure that you do not use this method, else the other person may find it difficult to understand, since he may not be used to this.
