Giving up

A lot has been said about acheiving great things in life, but not many realize the importance of giving up what you have. Ability to give up is as important as ability to achieve.
Here to give-up is in reference to things that you have already achieved.
For a simple example, if you are watching your favourite show and there is some work to be done at the same time, will you be able to give up watching the show and do the work. Not everyone would be able to do that. Most of us get caught in two minds, whether to watch the show or to complete the work and eventually we end up watching the show instead of completing the work.

Most people are not able give up something they like. They get terribly upset if they are forced to give up. Only saints would be able to give up anything and everything. However if we try to practice this, it could be of great help. No longer would you be caught in two minds. You would have a clear picture of what you want to do, without regretting that you missed something you like.

Also, please keep in mind that giving up does not mean losing .
It just means that you chose not to get upset if you don't get it.
