Checklist - Things to carry for Onsite Travel

Today we were planning to make a checklist of things to carry for our long term visit to Finland.
On the broad level, we could come up the following.
1. Clothing This includes all that you would wear.
List: Jeans,formal trousers,shirts,t-shirts,suits for party, kurtas, srees, salwar kameej, socks, undergarments, thermals, jackets, sweaters, winter/summer wear,cap,muffler, handkerchiefs,night suits, sports/formal shoes, shoe polish, slippers, chappals, hand gloves,

2. Utensils
If you are going for a very long term (say more than six months), it would be a wise idea to take some utensils. Though most of them will be available, but better to carry, if you can .
List: Tiffin box,Rolling pin, Pressure cooker(may not be available in some countries,so better to carry),steel plates,forks,small & big spoons,cooking spoons,nonstick pan,cooking vessels Kadai set,mik vessel,vessel for making tea,masala box, glasses, Tea cups,small/big bowls,laundry bags,knives, base for cutting vegetables

3. Cooking
It is better to carry the basic spices etc. Rice, daal ect can be purchased for there itself.
List: papad,amchur powder,rasana packet,Mirchi powder,Haldi,Hing,Pav bhaji masala,Sambhar ,masala,Rassam masala,Jeera powder,Tea powder,Ginger-garlic paste,Pickle,Puliogere powder,Jeera-Mohari,Maggi,coffee powder,garam masala

4. Medicines
Carry all the necessary medicines for general ailments. It is better to take a prescription from the doctor.Make sure you keep the prescription with you.
List:Medicines for Common cold, cough, fever, stomach problem, head ache, general skin ointment, pain killer, ointment for burns, vicks, glucose
Make sure to visit the dentist befor you leave. In most countries, dental treatment is very expensive.

5. Cosmetics
List:lipstick,lip Gel, makeup box,purse,swimming costume,camera,Bag,tounge cleaner,Tickali/Bindi,Cream,Body lotion,Body soap,shampoo,powder,perfume/deoderants, comb,vessel cleaning soap,wax & strips,ear-rings,hair clips,Johnson buds,needle/thread

6. Games/Entertainment
If you are planning to travel to a country where extreme climatic conditions exists, then better to have some game/entertainment stuffs with you. The below mentioned items are low cost and easy to carry.
sketing shoes & accessories,Playing cards - 2 sets, snake-ladder board game, scrabble, badminton racket,chess,skipping ropes

7. Important documents

Make sure you have a copy of all your important documents. In a foreign country, you never know when you have to prove your identity. Also write down important phone number on a piece of paper. In case you lose your mobile, you should have some contacts numbers to fall back on.

Passport, visa documents, 10 photographs, license, marriage certificate (if married), photocopy of other important documents

8. Misc Items
There are some miscellaneous items which can be carried.
Umbrella,watch & wall clock,curtains,bedsheet,napkins,scissors ,knief(if allowed),olive oil,god photo,Pooja-related things,headphone with speaker,mehandi powder,Shoulder bag,nail cutter

9. Other commitments/Tasks
Apart from the other, make sure that you fulfill other commitments as well such as
- How will your lic & other bills be paid. Give necessary cheques to your family members
- How will you transfer funds from onsite to your partents/family members , if required
- Give complete details of your joining location and contact numbers to your family members. In case you forget to call after reaching, the family members should know where to contact
- Get ur correspondence address changed to your home town for the different bills/bank notifications/MF's/whatever.
- Do verify expiry dates of food items while buying them.

Hmm,
Get ur correspondence address changed to your home town for the different bills/bank notifications/MF's/whatever.

I felt kinda sad reading your post.So u'll are actually going.
Good post.Will act as a checklist for ppl travelling.
